                                                                 Unholy Magic
                                                          Creatures of Myth, Book 3

Blurb
Unholy Magic is a sequel to Uncontrolled Magic, from Ellora's Cave's Autumn Animalia series.

Franco has loved Tehya almost since the moment they met. But when work calls him away, he realizes he can't return to her, convinced she'd never survive in his world.

His wolf didn't agree.

Tehya misses Franco, but right now she's got bigger problems. She takes it upon herself to investigate strange vibrations coming from the mountains near her cabin, much to the horror of Franco and her family. After all, she's a mere human--as far as they know.

Excerpt
Franco had met Tehya at the beginning of summer. Driving from San Francisco to Denver, intent on visiting his sister, he'd stopped overnight in Salt Lake City.

Bumping into her on the street in front of his hotel, he'd been immediately captivated by the Native American beauty. Enchanted by the long, dark brown hair brushing the bottom of her ass, he'd looked into chocolate brown eyes- found himself held by their secrets.

Mentally reaching out to see if his interest was returned, he was surprised to find her mind closed to him. He couldn't even read her surface thoughts.

From childhood, one of his strongest powers had been mind reading. Yet somehow Tehya erected a shield he couldn't penetrate. After spending a few hours with her, he decided the shields weren't something she built purposefully. She was naturally protected.

Intrigued by his inability to truly know what she thought or felt, he convinced her to have coffee with him. The ensuing conversation was a blur, as he focused on how she smiled or touched his hand when she wanted to make a point. Franco found himself delaying his trip to Denver indefinitely in order to follow Tehya into the mountains. To see a place she referred to as magical.

They'd spent several weeks holed up in those mountains. Occasionally stepping outside at sunrise or sunset to watch moose, deer and elk feed on the sweet meadow grass and drink from the Bear River. Most of their time together had been spent exploring--finding new ways to give each other pleasure. After long days and nights of making love, they would fall asleep wrapped in each other's arms.

Sometimes late at night, Franco had snuck out of bed to let his wolf reign supreme. Anyone catching a glimpse of a black timber wolf in the meadow would assume he'd wandered down from Yellowstone.

They had the area to themselves for most of those weeks. The owners of the other four cabins nearby came up occasionally to spend a day or so, interrupting their privacy. Tehya had wondered vaguely if her neighbors left so quickly because chopping enough wood to keep warm during the cold summer nights wasn't their idea of a vacation.

Franco knew the neighbors short stays had more to do with listening to a wolf howling at their doors during the night.

Tehya had been right about the magic--both in the setting and the connection between them. When they'd first arrived, they'd gone for a walk in Christmas Meadows. With pine trees on three sides and an Aspen grove on the fourth, all surrounding a multicolored carpet of wild flowers, it was definitely a magical place. His wolf senses had told him they were completely alone. Intent on stealing at least one kiss, he'd turned to her, placed his hands on her shoulders, gently pulled her to him. Gazing into sweet chocolate eyes, he'd kissed her--and lost his sanity.
