Writing Wilde - Writing Tip February 2, 2021

Writing Wilde - Writing Tip for February 3, 2021 - It is easy to miss something if you have 25 steps to do before you complete it. Or even just 5. Lets face it, these days our minds are full. The list doesn’t have to be formal, or created as an excel spread sheet… although they can be. But they can also be a page in your planner, or a word doc that just has a simple list.

For instance to publish a book to Amazon. I edit the book file. (Which has its own steps.) Add Amazon Front Matter (A word doc I’ve created for all books.) And Back Matter (Same word doc,) edit front & back matter specific to book. (This includes editing copyright information, dedication, and which excerpts to include specific to the series.). Then format the book (Another list.)

Then I create and edit the ePub & Mobi files (I have a list) and upload to Amazon and review. That isn’t the end. I wait until the book is approved and uploaded then add the title to my Amazon author page, make edits on author central to the blurb, add categories, then ensure the book is on Goodreads and Bookbub.

There are several additional steps in there…. because I didn’t actually look at my list. 😁But you get the idea.

Have a wonderful day!
